FLU – WHATSHISFACE Produced by Delicasteez

After two years away from the solo spotlight — but never far from the game — Flu returns to the mic with WHATSHISFACE: a sharp, focused reminder that he’s just as lethal with a verse as he is with a drum break.

Entirely produced by South Australia’s Delicasteez (Deli Records), the 11-track project leans into Flu’s signature strengths — multi-layered metaphors, intricate rhyme patterns, and braggadocious bars that reward repeat listens — while throwing in a few unexpected turns in flow and tempo to keep listeners guessing without straying from the core.

With Delicasteez behind the boards, Flu’s able to shift focus — going back to his first love: emcee’ing. No juggling samples or sequences this time, just sharpening syllables and letting the pen stretch where it wants to.

A welcomed surprise is Five Guards, a posse cut that marks the long-awaited return of the Crate Cartel collective. Hearing some of Australia’s illest lyricists back on the same track isn't just nostalgia — it's a reminder of just how deep that crew runs when it comes to pen game and presence.

From stripped-back loops to thumping basslines, Delicasteez lays the tracks and Flu takes the wheel — joined by guest appearances from Mog.Y, Traz, Crave One and Lobe.

Whether you’ve followed Flu since day dot or you’re only just putting a name to the voice, WHATSHISFACE is a stark reminder: old whatshisface never really left — he was just quietly getting sharper.
